All dogs are cute in their own way and puppies are even cuter, but how do you actually rank which breed is the cutest? Is it fluffy fur or spots? Or is it maybe that the dog has pointy ears and is very small? With 353 breeds in Sweden, it’s a really tough decision to make. We ran a survey among our members and put together a list of the 10 breeds that ended up at the top.
10. Bernese Mountain Dog

This big sweetheart is a perfect family dog that loves spending time with you and wants to be by your side almost all the time.
Since the Bernese Mountain Dog comes from the Swiss Alps, they have thick, beautiful fur to keep them warm, so this dog is more than happy to lie in the shade under a tree after a long walk.

Cocker Spaniels are very cheerful and energetic dogs. They adapt very well to most lifestyles. They are highly intelligent, friendly, patient and loyal. They’re happiest when they get to explore the garden or nature with their noses glued to the ground.
They feel just as at home in an apartment as they do out in nature, and they love to bring home things they’ve found. They are excellent with children.

8. Poodle

Poodles come in four different sizes: standard, medium, miniature and toy. They are adorably cute in every size. They’re known for their classic haircut because they are often shown in the ring. If you don’t plan to show your poodle, it’s usually enough to brush the coat regularly and have it trimmed about every six weeks.
They’re one of the smartest dog breeds, which makes them very easy to train. They respond well to positive reinforcement. When it comes to exercise, poodles need a fair amount of activity and are happy to join you for long walks in the forest or on the beach.

7. French Bulldog

We fully expected this breed to make the list, as it’s incredibly cute and extremely popular in Sweden. French Bulldogs are known as the “clowns” of the dog world. They’re intelligent and playful.
A French Bulldog does well with children, but as with all smaller breeds, it’s wise to keep an eye on them when they play, for the dog’s own safety.

3. Labrador Retriever

Labradors are the most common dog breed in Sweden and in the world, which might be one reason they took third place. Even if many people probably voted for their own breed, Labradors are incredibly beautiful and cute, so we at Skaffa Hund think they absolutely deserve third place on this list.
Labradors are friendly and always eager to please, which in short makes them a very good breed for hunting, training and more. They are very intelligent and thrive both as family dogs and as working dogs.

2. Dachshund

Even though a Dachshund is sometimes called a “sausage dog” because of its long body and short legs, they’re incredibly cute and, according to our survey, they quite rightly take second place.
Dachshunds can be stubborn, but they are also very intelligent, so they can be trained even if it may be a bit challenging at times. Activities most dogs love — and Dachshunds in particular — include going on adventures, digging and playing with balls. They can move surprisingly fast despite their short legs. They are very playful and affectionate, which makes them a good fit for families and children, as long as they are treated with respect.
