These terms apply between you and Dogs Unleashed AB, company registration number 559049-6807, Skeppargatan 92, 115 30 Stockholm, Sweden ("Get a Pet", "we", "us" or "our"), when you use the Get a Pet app, website and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these terms.

Separate terms may apply to a purchase, PetPay, insurance or another additional service. They will be displayed before you place an order or enter into an agreement. If there is a conflict, the specific terms apply to that service.

1. Account and eligibility

You must provide accurate and up-to-date information, protect access to your phone number and account, and tell us about suspected unauthorised use. Your account is personal and must not be transferred or used to mislead others.

You must be at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent, guardian or other authorised representative. To enter into a binding purchase or payment agreement, you must have the legal capacity to do so or be represented by someone who does.

Some features require phone verification, electronic identity verification or additional information. We may refuse access to a feature if the check cannot be completed or where required by law, security requirements or a payment service provider.

2. Listings, profiles and animals

You are responsible for ensuring that information you publish is accurate, current and not misleading. You may only list an animal if you have the right to do so, and you must follow applicable animal welfare, registration, import, breeding and sales rules. Animal welfare must always come first.

You are responsible for checking the other party, animal, health information, origin, registration, permissions and other documents before a purchase. Get a Pet verification or moderation is not a guarantee of a user, listing or animal.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of text, images, video and other content you upload. You confirm that you have the right to use the content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights, privacy or applicable law.

You grant Get a Pet a non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free licence to store, process, adapt to technical formats, display and distribute the content to the extent necessary to operate, protect and market the Service and your listing. The licence ends when the content is removed, except where a limited copy must be retained for legal, security or backup purposes.

4. Messages and conduct

Use the Service lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

  • harass, threaten, discriminate against or defame anyone;
  • publish unlawful, misleading, offensive or rights-infringing content;
  • commit or facilitate fraud, money laundering, unauthorised trade or other criminal activity;
  • send spam or malicious code, or try to bypass security, fees or access restrictions;
  • collect other users' data without a lawful basis; or
  • use automated methods that disrupt the Service or copy data on an unauthorised scale.

You can report content or users to support. We may review reported content and, where permitted and necessary, relevant accounts and messages to investigate safety issues or breaches of these terms.

5. Get a Pet's role

For animal listings, Get a Pet provides a marketplace where buyers and sellers can find and contact one another. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the agreement for the animal is between the buyer and seller; Get a Pet is not the seller, buyer, breeder or agent and does not own the animal.

We aim to keep the Service safe and useful but cannot guarantee a user's identity or conduct, that a listing is complete, that an animal matches its description or that a transaction will be completed. Contact us promptly if you suspect fraud or an animal welfare issue, and also contact the relevant authority if there is an immediate risk.

6. PetPay, contracts and payments

PetPay may support identity checks, a digital purchase agreement, payment and payout. Payments and payouts are handled by Stripe and any connected payment service providers. Their terms and checks may apply in addition to these terms.

The parties are responsible for reading and checking the purchase agreement before signing it. A buyer should not confirm handover or approve payout before checking the animal and agreed documents. Fees, the payment flow, payout conditions and any cancellation or refund options are displayed in the relevant flow or agreement.

We may pause or stop a payment, payout or feature where required by law, a provider, a security check or an ongoing dispute.

7. Shop, insurance and external services

When you buy physical goods directly from the Get a Pet shop, Dogs Unleashed AB is the seller and our separate purchase terms apply. Information about price, delivery, withdrawal, complaints and returns is displayed in the shop and purchase terms. Mandatory consumer law always applies.

Insurance and other partner offers are provided by the partner named in the offer. The partner's terms and privacy policy apply, and Get a Pet is not responsible for the partner's decisions or performance except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

The Service may link to or depend on external services. We are not responsible for their availability or content, but select and manage our own providers with reasonable care.

8. Prices, fees and refunds

Creating a basic account is free. Some features, listings, shop purchases or transactions may have a cost. The price and any fees are displayed before you confirm a purchase.

Any right to cancel, withdraw, return or receive a refund depends on what you purchased, whether performance of the service has begun and applicable consumer law. Nothing in these terms restricts a right that you cannot legally waive.

9. Moderation and suspension

We may reject, reduce the visibility of or remove content, and warn, restrict or suspend an account where we reasonably believe that the content or use breaches these terms, the law, animal welfare, third-party rights or the security of the Service. We may also act to comply with an authority's decision or a provider requirement.

Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and how you can object. We may act without notice where there is an urgent security risk, suspected crime or where the law prohibits notice.

10. Our rights and Service availability

The Service, software, trademarks and content provided by us or our licensors belong to the relevant rights holder. You receive a limited, personal, revocable and non-transferable right to use the Service under these terms.

We may maintain, change or discontinue features. We aim to give reasonable notice if a material change affects a paid or central feature, but do not guarantee that the Service will always be error-free or available. Planned maintenance, security issues and events beyond our control may cause interruptions.

11. Ending use and deleting your account

You can stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion in the app's account settings. Ongoing purchases, payments, contracts, disputes or obligations do not automatically end when the account is deleted. Some information may therefore need to be retained under our privacy policy.

We may discontinue the Service or your account under the moderation and suspension section. Provisions which by their nature should continue, including those on liability, payment, intellectual property and disputes, remain in effect after termination.

12. Liability

Each user is responsible for their content, decisions, agreements and conduct towards others. To the extent permitted by law, Get a Pet is not liable for indirect loss or damage caused by a user, an animal, inaccurate listing information, an external service or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Get a Pet is responsible for loss or damage we cause intentionally or negligently to the extent provided by applicable law. These terms do not limit liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be limited.

13. Privacy and changes

Our privacy policy explains how we process personal data. We may change these terms when the Service, our costs or the rules change. If a change is material, we will provide notice in the Service or through an appropriate contact method before it takes effect where required. If you do not accept a change, you can stop using the Service and delete your account.

14. Law, disputes and contact

Swedish law applies, without limiting mandatory consumer protection in the country where you live. Please first try to resolve any issue with us at support@getapet.com. You may also contact the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) or the corresponding competent dispute resolution body where you live. Any dispute not resolved by other means will be decided by a court with jurisdiction.
