Papillon vs Schipperke

The Papillon is a small, elegant toy dog with large butterfly-like ears, a fine, silky parti-coloured coat and a plumed tail. Lively, intelligent and highly trainable, it enjoys activity and mental stimulation, makes an alert watchdog, needs regular brushing, and often lives into the mid–late teens.

Schipperkes are small, sturdy Belgian dogs with a square build and thick black double coat forming a ruff and “culottes.” Alert, intelligent, and independent, they’re loyal watchdogs, energetic companions needing daily mental and physical exercise, and generally robust with proper health care.
