Medium-sized French scenthound with a rough golden to red-fawn coat, dark expressive eyes, and sturdy, athletic build. Bred for wild boar, it’s energetic, curious, social, and gentle at home, needing ample outdoor exercise, secure fencing, and regular but simple coat care.

The Västgötaspets is a small, sturdy Swedish herding dog with a foxlike look, dense double coat and easy grooming. Energetic, vocal and intelligent, it bonds closely with active families, needs consistent positive training, daily exercise and mental stimulation, and is generally healthy.
