Do dogs eat grass to make themselves vomit?

It’s true that dogs often throw up after eating a lot of grass, but there’s nothing to suggest that they eat grass in order to vomit. According to various dog experts, they’re more likely to eat grass simply because they like the taste. The vomiting that sometimes follows is a completely natural reaction. However, it can also be a sign of stomach or intestinal problems, so we recommend that you visit a veterinarian to have your dog checked.

Do dogs get a dry nose when they’re sick?

Does a dry nose mean a dog is ill? Not necessarily.

A dog’s nose changes temperature and moisture levels several times a day, and this happens without any change in the dog’s general health. For example, dogs often have a dry nose right after they wake up. On the other hand, if your dog’s nose stays dry for a longer period and develops crusts, it may be a sign of illness. In that case, we recommend visiting a veterinarian to check your dog’s condition.

Are dogs color-blind?

Have you heard that dogs can only see in black and white? That’s not true. After many studies of dogs’ eyes, researchers have concluded that dogs can see different colors. Their analyses show that dogs see through a blue and green-yellow filter, as well as different shades of gray.

You can’t teach an old dog to sit

It’s a well-known saying that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks (often used about people as well).

It’s an expression of a reluctance to change, and there is a grain of truth in it. But most of the time it comes from dog owners having difficulties teaching older dogs various tricks. It is absolutely possible to teach an old dog new things; it may just take a bit more time. Keep in mind that older dogs have less energy and may need more frequent breaks.
